Citytv - ROGERS BROADCASTING LIMITED
1. “Contest Period” starts at 5:30am on April 23, 2012 and continues until 12:00pm (Noon) on May 4, 2012, the “Contest Closing Date”. No purchase necessary. Only one (1) entry per household. Any attempt or suspected attempt to enter more than once per person, any use of robotic, automatic, programmed or entry methods not authorized by these rules, shall be deemed as tampering and will void all of your entries. All times are Mountain Times. This Contest is sponsored by Citytv Calgary, a division of Rogers Broadcasting Limited, hereinafter referred to as (“Citytv”).
(a) To enter watch Citytv meteorologist Andrew Schultz's grilling weather forecasts during Breakfast Television on Citytv weekdays between 5:30am and 9am during the Contest Period and spot the Trail Appliances BBQ Word of the Day. Then enter that WORD, along with your best barbecue recipe, for the chance to participate in the Trail Appliances BBQ Cook-Off live on Breakfast Television on May 11, 2011. Go to www.Breakfasttelevision.ca complete the entry ballot in full along with your favorite BBQ recipe and the BBQ Word of the Day and submit it as instructed by the Contest Closing Date.
• Recipe must be original (an original recipe that is one of own’s mind and not copied or published anywhere). Your recipe must include: recipe name, a complete list of ingredients, exact measurements, the number of servings, time required to prepare and preparation instructions. Ingredients must be readily available in Canada. Citytv reserves the right to modify or edit the recipe, and may publish in any media whatsoever without the consent of the entrant
• Entries are not eligible and will be disqualified if: Entrants are food professionals, such as a chef, food writer or someone who creates recipes for pay.
(b) On or around 12:30pm May 4, 2012 a panel of judges from Citytv (the “Judges”) will review all eligible entries received as of the Contest Closing Date in order to determine the best recipe based upon creativity, originality and the appeal. The Judges will pick one (1) entry; this entrant will be deemed the Citytv Semi-Finalist. The Semi-Finalist will be asked to attend 1) Trail Appliances BBQ Cook-off pre-BBQ meeting with Andrew Schultz at 1:00pm on May 10th at Trail Appliances South Calgary location, 6880 11th Street SE, Calgary, Alberta during a Sportnet 960 The Fan on-location radio remote,and 2) also attend the studios of Breakfast Television,located at 535 - 7th Avenue SW, Calgary, Alberta, in order to participate in the BBQ cook-off the morning off May 11, 2012 (the “Events”) 6:30am - 8:30am. The Citytv finalist will be in competition with a Semi-Finalist from Sportnet 960 The Fan. Semi-Finalists must be able to attend the Events on the dates as specified, if a Semi-Finalist cannot attend the Events, he/she must notify the Judges, who will then in their sole discretion pick another Semi-Finalist from all remaining entries. Semi-Finalists will be contacted by telephone or email, as set out on the entry form. The Events will be Judged by a representative of Trail Appliances who will determine the potential Grand Prize winner at the conclusion of the BBQ Cook-off during Breakfast Television on May 11, 2012, that is, the conclusion of the Event.
(c) If a selected entrant cannot be reached within 2 days following the selection, incorrectly answers the skill-testing question, declines the prize, or fails to return a Release of Liability as specified below, another entrant will be selected.
2. Prizes:
(a) One Semi-Finalist is eligible to win one (1) Grand Prize,and consists of:
• a Napoleon "Prestige" series grill- model P500RB, having an approximate retail value of $1,400.
(b) One Semi-Finalist is eligible to win a secondary prize from Trail Appliances, value: $250.
(c) Prize must be accepted as awarded and may not be transferred or exchanged. Citytv reserves the right to substitute a prize of at least equal or greater value in the event of the unavailability, for whatever reason, of the advertised prize.
3. To be declared a winner, selected entrant must first correctly answer, unaided, a time-limited, mathematical skill-testing question posed at the Event; and will also need to return a signed release of liability and acknowledgment form. Contest judges' rulings are final and without appeal in all matters related to the Contest and the awarding of prizes.
4. By entering this Contest, entrants consent to the use of their entry, name, city of residence and/or any photograph of or that may be taken in publicity carried out by Citytv and its advertising agencies, without further notice or compensation.
5. This Contest is open to residents of Alberta who are over the age of 18, excluding employees of Citytv, its parent and affiliated companies, representatives, dealers and agents, Contest suppliers and judges, and those with whom they are domiciled. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations.
6. No communications will be entered into except with selected entrant.
7. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries. All entries that are incomplete, illegible, damaged, irregular, have been submitted through illicit means, or do not conform to or satisfy any condition of the rules may be disqualified by Citytv. Citytv takes no responsibility for lost, stolen, delayed, damaged, misdirected, late or destroyed entries, or for typographical or other production errors. Citytv is not responsible for any errors or omissions in printing or advertising this Contest. All entries become the property of Citytv and will not be returned.
8. Citytv is collecting personal data about entrants for the purpose of administering this Contest. No further informational or marketing communications will be received by entrants unless entrants provide Citytv with explicit permission to do so as indicated on the entry form. Please see Citytv’s Privacy Policy at www.rogers.com for information on its policy towards maintaining the privacy and security of user information.
9. By entering this Contest, entrants release and hold harmless the Citytv, its advertising and Contest agencies and the Contest judge(s), their affiliates and respective directors, officers, owners, partners, employees, agents, dealers, representatives, successors and assigns (collectively the “Releasees”) from any liability in connection with this Contest or, if declared a winner, the prize. Before being declared a winner, entrants may be required to sign and return, within a stipulated period of time, a Declaration of Compliance with the Contest Rules and a full Liability and Publicity Release.
10. This Contest will be run in accordance with these rules, subject to amendment by Citytv. Contestants must comply with these rules, and will be deemed to have received and understood the rules by participating in the Contest. The terms of this Contest, as set out in these rules, are not subject to amendment or counter-offer, except as set out herein.
11. (a) Citytv assumes no responsibility for failure of the internet or the website during the Contest Period, for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email or traffic congestion on the internet or at any website, or any combination thereof including any injury or damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from playing or downloading any material in the Contest.
(b) Citytv reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, suspend or otherwise modify this contest, cancel any method of entry or void any entries submitted fraudulently should unauthorized human intervention, or other causes corrupt administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper operation of this Contest. In the event of cancellation, Citytv may elect to identify the winner and award the prizes by way of random drawing from among all non-suspect, eligible entries received up to the time of such cancellation. Any attempt to deliberately damage any web site or to undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws. Should such an attempt be made, Citytv reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution.
(c) If the identity of an entrant is disputed, the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry will be deemed to be the entrant. The individual assigned to the e-mail address for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address is considered the authorized account holder. A selected entrant may be required to provide proof that he/she is the authorized account holder of the e-mail address associated with the selected entry. All entries must be submitted from a valid e-mail account that may be identified by reverse domain name search. The sole determinant of time for the purposes of receipt of a valid entry in this Contest will be the Contest server machine(s)
